Blue Moon: Ria & Peter
As vocalist of the Blue Moon jazz duo/trio, Ria performs with renowned guitarist Peter MacDonald at concerts, festivals, restaurants and private functions in Jacksonville and the surrounding area. Inspired by musicians Aretha Franklin, Al Green, Sarah Vaughan, Norah Jones, Nancy Wilson, Tuck n' Patty, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Diana Krall and many others, Ria adds her personal touch.
A refined singer-songwriter, she performs jazz standards and original jazz compositions in a variety of settings.
On the local scene, you can hear Ria in the Blue Moon duo/trio at The Riverside Wine Festival, The Willow Branch Public Library Jazz Sessions, Christmas in Avondale, art exhibits, taverns, coffee houses, happy hours, wine tastings, restaurants, holiday parties, The Prelude Chamber Music Camp, Edward Waters College Faculty Recitals, festivals and special events.
Before moving to Jacksonville, she performed at the Society of Composers Conferences in Miami, The South Beach Movie Premier Party for “Class Act”, The Gilded Hand Art Gallery in Coral Gables, University of Miami Faculty Concerts, Miami-Dade College Faculty Recitals and Pashia’s Restaurant in South Beach as the house band.
A former resident of Vancouver, B.C., Canada, Ria performed regularly at local pubs, coffee houses, restaurants and venues including The Kelowna Wine Festival and the Vancouver Jazz and Blues Festival.
